This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

Welcome back! 🌊

This is the form we use to build your schedule for the 2026 summer season. The more accurately you fill this out, the better we can match you with shifts you actually want.

One promise from us: as returning staff, we will maximize your weekly hours based on the availability you provide here. The more availability you give, the more hours we can offer you.

📌 Important Dates:
  • Submission deadline: Thursday, May 7, 2026
  • Returning staff schedules published: Monday, May 11, 2026
⚠️ Don't forget: Make sure you sign back into When I Work so you can view your schedule and pick up shifts.

Takes about 5 minutes.

Step 1: About You

We just need your basic contact info so we can reach you about your schedule.
Your Full Legal Name(Required)
Use the same name that's on your paycheck.
We'll send your weekly schedule and any updates here.
Best number to reach you for last-minute schedule changes.
Will you be 18 or older by Saturday, May 23, 2026?(Required)
This is the day the season starts. We ask because work rules are different for staff under 18.
MM slash DD slash YYYY
We need this to file your minor work permit. Required by law, not by us.

Step 2: Your Position

Tell us what role you're returning as.
Which position are you returning to?(Required)
Are you also willing to take Pool Monitor shifts?(Required)
Saying yes here gives you access to more shifts on weeks when lifeguard slots are full. Pool Monitor pay rate applies to those shifts.

Step 3: Your Season Commitment

We need to know how long you'll be with us this summer.
📅 The 2026 season starts Saturday, May 23rd.
This is the first day of work for everyone.
How long will you be working with us this season?(Required)
Pick the option that best fits your situation.
MM slash DD slash YYYY
Your final shift date for the season.

Step 4: When You Can Work Each Week

Now tell us which days and times you can work each week. Be honest — we build your schedule around what you tell us here.
⚠️ Weekend availability is required.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are our busiest days. Full availability on Fri–Sun is required for everyone. If you're still in school, we require Saturday and Sunday plus all holiday weekends. Because this is required, we don't ask about weekend times below — just weekdays.

For each weekday below, choose one of three options:

  • Fully Available — you can work any shift that day
  • Not Available — you can't work at all that day
  • Available, except during these hours — you can work that day, but you have a class, appointment, or other commitment that blocks part of the day

Step 5: Time Off You Already Know About

If you already know about days you'll be away (vacations, family events, doctor visits, etc.), tell us now so we don't schedule you. The more notice we have, the easier it is to plan.
About holiday weekends (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day):
You can request these off here, but holiday weekends are approved based on seniority and how many other staff are available. If you do end up scheduled on a holiday weekend, it's your responsibility to find someone to cover your shift if you can't work it.
List any trips or multi-day time off you already have planned. Put each one on its own line.
Single Days You Need Off
Date (MM/DD/YYYY)
Reason (optional)

Use this for one-day-at-a-time things — doctor appointments, family events, etc. Click 'Add Another Day' for each one.

Step 6: Where You Can Work

We service pools across Orange County. Tell us where you can realistically get to.
Which areas can you work in? (Check all that apply)(Required)
Check every area you'd be willing to drive to for a shift. The more areas, the more shifts we can offer.
How are you getting to work?(Required)
We ask so we don't assign you a site you can't reach.
Please enter a number from 5 to 120.
Helps us match you with closer pools when possible.

Step 7: Final Details

Almost done — just a couple more things.
For your staff uniform.
Optional. If there's something about your availability or situation that didn't fit anywhere above, share it here.

Before you submit — please read and confirm:

By submitting this form, I'm agreeing to the following:

  • I'll be ready to start on Saturday, May 23, 2026, on time and in uniform.
  • I understand that Fri–Sun availability is a requirement of my position.
  • The availability I'm submitting is my real commitment — not a wishlist.
  • If I need to change my availability later, I'll give my coordinator at least 2 weeks' written notice.
  • If I'm scheduled for a holiday weekend, it's my job to find shift coverage if I can't work.
I've read and agree to the above(Required)
By typing your name here, you confirm the agreement above.
